Minutes of a meeting of the PLANNING COMMITTEE, Arlesey Town Council held in the Village Hall, Arlesey on Tuesday 15 July 2008

Cllr I Dalgarno, as District Councillor, took no part in the voting on the planning applications agenda items 6 (a) to 6 (d) Cllr H Harper, as District Councillor, took no part in the voting on the planning applications agenda items 6 (a) to 6 (d) 210 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION There was no public participation 211 MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING RESOLVED that the Minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 1 July 2008 be confirmed and signed by the Chairman as a true record 212 MATTERS ARISING There were no matters arising from the previous meeting 213 PLANNING APPLICATIONS (a) 08/01072/FULL – Full: Change of use from vacant land to residential garden use – Land Rear of 3 Lewis Lane, Arlesey SG15 6FB Recommended: to approve the proposal, no objections from the Town Council (b) 08/01075/FULL – Full: Part single storey part two storey rear extension – 15 High Street, Arlesey SG15 6RA Recommended: to approve subject to neighbours being consulted and their comments being taken into consideration, otherwise no objections from the Town Council (c) 08/01180/FULL – Full: Variation of condition 9 on planning permission 07/01853/FULL varied to ‘retail units hereby approved shall not operate except between the hours of 7.00am and 11.00pm Monday to Sunday including Bank Holidays, unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Local Planning Authority’ – Retail Units South of, Dickens Boulevard, Stotfold (d) 08/01182/FULL – Full: Variation of planning condition 10 on planning permission 07/01853/FULL, varied to ‘No deliveries shall be taken at or dispatched from the retail units hereby permitted outside the hours of 10.00pm and 7.00am on Mondays to Saturdays, or the hours of 6.00pm to 9.00am on Sundays or Bank Holidays – Retail Units South of, Dickens Boulevard, Stotfold Recommended: to note agenda items 6 (c) and (d) 214 DECISIONS (a) 08/00551/FULL – Full: Rear single storey extension – 62 Church Lane, Arlesey SG15 6UX – APPROVED (b) 08/00819/FULL – Full: Re-profiling dangerous cliff – The Blue Lagoon Lake, Hitchin Road, Arlesey – APPROVED AGREED to note the above decisions 214 (a) and 214 (b) 215 MBDC – NOTICE OF APPEALS (a) Planning Application 07/01654/FULL – Full: change of use to mixed use of residential dwelling and gypsy caravan site (2 static caravans and 2 touring caravans) - Land to the rear of 197 Hitchin Road, Arlesey Any representations on this appeal are to be received by 28 July 2008 Cllr Harper reported that if members wanted to attend the appeal it was being held on 2 September at 10.00am at Mid Beds District Council for one day. The Town Council had no further objections to this proposal other than those already made at the initial planning stage Cllr Harper also mentioned that planning application 08/00602/FULL at 1 Church End, Arlesey was going to appeal because the Local Planning Authority had failed to give notice of its decision within the appropriate period 216 MID BEDS DISTRICT COUNCIL The Chairman summarised a letter from Mid Beds District Council, which stated that due to a number of fundamental concerns the District Council were not in a position to support the Government’s Eco-towns concept or the possible choice of Marston Vale as a potential Eco-town location until more details were known 217 LOCAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK Cllr Hugh Harper gave an update on the forthcoming consultation on the Issues and Options stage of the Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD). He reported that there had been a consultation at Stotfold last week for the proposals in Arlesey. When he attended the exhibition no residents from Arlesey had attended. Cllr Harper said that he would shortly be meeting with Mid Beds District Council to arrange another consultation in Arlesey. The architects were drawing up more detailed drawings, which should be ready by the end of next week. As the consultation period ended in October members felt that a public meeting for the residents of Arlesey should be held in mid September CHAIRMAN |
