Minutes of a meeting of the PLANNING COMMITTEE, Arlesey Town Council held in the Village Hall, Arlesey on Tuesday 4 January 2011.

548 ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN FOR THIS MEETING  

The Chairman and Vice-Chairman had sent in their apologies for absence for this meeting and a proposal was needed for someone to chair the meeting.

It was proposed and seconded that Cllr Hugh Harper be elected as the Chairman for the meeting. 

549 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

Apologies for absence were received from Cllr J Caffrey, Cllr N Daniels, Cllr D Page, Cllr D West and Cllr V Williams. 

550 MEMBERS’ INTERESTS

Cllr I Dalgarno, as he is also a Central Bedfordshire Councillor, took no part in the voting on the planning application agenda item 6  

No declarations of personal or prejudicial interests were received.

552 MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

Members received a copy of the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on 7 December 2010

RESOLVED 

that the Minutes of the meeting of the Planning Committee held on 7 December 2010 be confirmed and signed by the Chairman as a true record. 

553 MATTERS ARISING

There were no matters arising from the previous meeting.

554 PLANNING APPLICATION

CB/10/04207/FULL – Full: Provision of a new surface car park for 75 no. cars and 6 no. motorcycles.  Provision of new footway and parking on-street prevention measures.  Provision of street lighting and CCTV for off-street parking areas only.  – Land adjacent Arlesey Railway Station, Old Oak Close Arlesey

Recommended: to OBJECT to this proposal on the grounds of over-development in terms of car parking provision
