ARLESEY TOWN COUNCIL 

Minutes of the meeting of Arlesey Town Council’s PLANNING COMMITTEE, held in the Village Hall, Arlesey on Tuesday 19 January 2010.

410 ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN FOR THIS MEETING     

The Chairman and Vice-Chairman had sent in their apologies for absence for this meeting and a proposal was needed for someone to chair the meeting.

It was proposed and seconded that Cllr Hugh Harper be elected as the Chairman for the meeting.

411 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs Mrs L Bowskill, J Caffrey, N Daniels, Mrs H Frost, D Page, M Rainbow and V Williams.

412 MEMBERS’ INTERESTS

Planning Application agenda item 6 (c) – CB/09/07040/FULL – Full: Agricultural workers dwelling (retrospective) – Land at Etonbury Farm, Stotfold Road, Arlesey SG15 6BD – Cllr David Beatham declared a personal and prejudicial interest as he is a director and shareholder of the company making the proposal.

No other declarations of personal or prejudicial interests were received.

There was no public participation

414 MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

Members received a copy of the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on 5 January 2010  

RESOLVED

that the Minutes of the meeting of the Planning Committee held on the 5 January 2010 be confirmed and signed by the Chairman as a true record. 

415 MATTERS ARISING

There were no matters arising from the previous meeting 

416 PLANNING APPLICATIONS

(a) CB/09/06956/FULL – Full: Detached dwelling and parking area – Land To The Rear Of 175 High Street, Arlesey

Recommended: to approve this proposal subject to neighbours’ comments on access being taken into consideration, otherwise no objections from the Town Council

(b) CB/09/07049/OUT – Outline: Provision of link road (All matters reserved except access) – Land to rear of 35 to 41 High Street & St Johns Road, Arlesey 

The Chairman said there was a possible legal challenge to this application and it was proposed to defer it to the next Planning Committee meeting.

RESOLVED

this proposal be deferred until the next Planning Committee meeting

Cllr D Beatham left the room whilst this planning application was discussed

(c) CB/09/07040/FULL – Full: Agricultural workers dwelling (retrospective) – Land At Etonbury Farm, Stotfold Road, Arlesey SG15 6BD

Recommended: to approve this proposal, no objections from the Town Council

(d) CB/09/06550/FULL – Full: Installation of roller shutters to shop front and door – 31 High Street, Arlesey SG15 6RA

Recommended: to approve this proposal, no objections from the Town Council

(e) CB/09/06842/FULL – Full: Single storey rear extension to retail premises and internal alterations to flat above to provide office – Arlesey Church End Post Office, 82 House Lane, Arlesey SG15 6XX 

Recommended: to approve this proposal subject to neighbours’ comments on the external stair access being taken into consideration, otherwise no objections from the Town Council

(f) CB/09/0702/LDCE – Lawful Development Certificate: Retention of existing use in unit 6. Parking and routine maintenance of buses and coaches – Unit 6, Arlesey Business Park, Mil Lane, Arlesey SG15 6RF

Recommended: to approve this proposal, no objections from the Town Council 

417 CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL - STREET NAMING

Correspondence received from Central Bedfordshire Council confirms the postal addresses for 3 dwellings as 1A, 1B and 1C Station Road, Arlesey SG15 6RG following demolition of existing buildings at 1 Station Road, Arlesey SG15 6RG  

RESOLVED

to note the confirmed postal addresses for 1A, 1B and 1C Station Road, Arlesey SG15 6RG 

418 CORRESPONDENCE

The Chairman read an email received from EERA regarding the Town Council’s response to the East of England Plan>2031 Scenarios for Economic Growth consultation.
