Minutes of the meeting of Arlesey Town Councils PLANNING COMMITTEE, held in the Village Hall, Arlesey on Tuesday 2 February 2010. PRESENT: Cllrs: V Williams (Chairman) H Harper Mrs D Archer Mrs C Harris D Beatham R Harris I Dalgarno C Howitt N Daniels M Rainbow Mrs H Frost D West In attendance: Mrs E Hare (Clerk) and 2 members of the public 419 APOLOGIES Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs Mrs L Bowskill and D Page. 420 MEMBERS INTERESTS Cllr I Dalgarno, as he is also a Central Bedfordshire Councillor, took no part in the voting on the planning application agenda item 6 (b) No declarations of personal or prejudicial interests were received. 421 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION There was no public participation 422 MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING Members received a copy of the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on 19 January 2010 RESOLVED that the Minutes of the meeting of the Planning Committee held on the 19 January 2010 be confirmed and signed by the Chairman as a true record. 423 MATTERS ARISING There were no matters arising from the previous meeting. 424 PLANNING APPLICATIONS (a) CB/09/07049/OUT Outline: Provision of link road (All matters reserved except access) Land to rear of 35 to 41 High Street & St Johns Road, Arlesey Recommended: Although the Town Council is keen to support a relief road, this application seeks planning permission to construct a link road, which is only part of the relief road. Therefore, the Town Council recommends this application is withheld until it considers the wider development proposals of the remodelling of the High Street, Primrose Lane, Mill Lane and Station Road junction. (b) CB/10/00061/FULL Full: Single storey front extension and two storey side extension 18 Carters Way, Arlesey SG15 6UQ Recommendation: The Town Council made no objections to this proposal but request that neighbours comments should be taken into consideration before planning permission is granted. Two storey side extension following demolition of existing single storey side building 3 Lynton Avenue, Arlesey SG15 6TT- GRANTED (i) CB/09/05756/FULL Full: Resubmission of previously approved application 07/00039/FULL for the erection of double garage and gymnasium/playroom at first floor now encompassing the addition of habitable space on the second floor 68 High Street, Arlesey SG15 6SL GRANTED RESOLVED to note the details of the determined planning applications 425 (a) to 425 (i) 426 CORRESPONDENCE (a) The correspondence received from Central Bedfordshire Council enclosed their Planning Enforcement Policy which was adopted on 10 November 2009, and sets out principles within which the Planning Enforcement and Appeals Team apply the planning enforcement function of Central Bedfordshire Council. Cllr Hugh Harper reported on some of the aims of the Policy, such as the need to protect the environment from harmful effects of unauthorised uses and development while promoting growth. RESOLVED to note the information and adoption of the Planning Enforcement Policy (b) What is Planning Aid? Members received a copy of the What is Planning Aid leaflet. Planning Aid is part of the Royal Town Planning Institute, but is not part of Central or Local Government. It provides independent professional information and advice to individuals and community groups on planning issues, including the role enforcement plays in the planning system.
