Minutes of a meeting of the PLANNING COMMITTEE, Arlesey Town Council held in the Village Hall, Arlesey on Tuesday 4 March 2008

The Town Council would not object to a smaller sign near the entrance to the premises. Councillor C Howitt voted against the motion (b) 08/00005/FULL Full: Two storey side extension and single storey outbuilding 1 Primrose Lane, Arlesey, SG15 6RD Recommended: to approve subject to neighbours being consulted and their comments taken into consideration, otherwise no objections from the Town Council (c) 08/00256/FULL Full: Extension and alterations comprising two storey side extension to the north gable and new chalet roof to existing single storey dwelling and formation of dormers to form two semi-detached dwellings - 65 Hitchin Road, Arlesey, SG15 6RS Recommended: to approve, no objections from the Town Council (d) 08/00262/FULL - Full: Rollers shutters to shop front 31 High Street, Arlesey, SG15 6RA Recommended: to approve this proposal, as this will greatly improve security of the premises considering the nature of the business, no objections from the Town Council (e) 08/00289/FULL Full: single storey front and rear extensions. New driveway and parking area 23 Hillary Rise, Arlesey, SG15 6TL Recommended: to approve subject to neighbours being consulted and their comments taken into consideration, otherwise no objections from the Town Council (f) 08/00291/FULL Full: First floor side and part rear extension 65 Lymans Road, Arlesey, SG15 6TH Recommended: to approve subject to neighbours being consulted and their comments taken into consideration, otherwise no objections from the Town Council 138 DECISIONS (a) 07/01635/FULL Full: Erection of single storey dwelling with integral garage and living accommodation in roof space Land adjacent to 73 Hitchin Road, Arlesey APPROVED condition numbers 2 (materials) and 6 (wheel cleaning) (b) 07/02017/FULL Full: Conversion of storage shed to 1 bedroom single storey dwelling Land rear of 3 High Street, Arlesey REFUSED (c) 07/02050/FULL Full: First floor rear extension 43 Hitchin Road, Arlesey SG15 6RR APPROVED AGREED to note the above decisions 138 (a) to 138 (c) 139 EAST OF ENGLAND REGIONAL ASSEMBLY (EERA) Members were given a copy of the correspondence received from the East of England Regional Assembly (EERA), which informed the Town Council of their recently submitted draft RSS Single Review on Planning for Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation in the East of England to Central Government for consideration. It stated the Government was now inviting views on the draft policy through a 12 week public consultation period that will run from 25 February to 16 May 2008. This was noted as Cllr I Dalgarno had elaborated on the subject during his District Council report to the Town Council meeting earlier. 140 MID BEDS DISTRICT COUNCIL LDF SITE ALLOCATIONS DPD ISSUES AND OPTIONS Correspondence and documents received from Mid Beds District Council informing the Town Council that the consultation has now started on the Issues and Options stage of the Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD). The closing date for the return of any comments is Friday 4 April 2008. Cllr Harper outlined the other areas in Arlesey that had been submitted as potential development sites by landowners and developers. He went on to say that the Town Councils submitted proposals were not displayed as a whole picture but would still include the relief road for the town. RESOLVED to respond to the consultation that the Town Council rejects all other sites submitted for the LDF, other than the proposals submitted by the Town Council 141 MATTHEW TAYLOR REVIEW Independent review on Rural Economy and Affordable Housing call for evidence. Because of the short time allowed for this to be considered by the Town Council Cllr Harper had read through the documents and informed Member of the contents. After discussion it was agreed to respond to provide the evidence to inform the review. RESOLVED to complete the call for evidence document with the Town Councils view on Rural Economy, Affordable Housing, Real Life Examples/Case Studies and any other comments that may be relevant The Chairman thanked Cllr Harper for reading through the documents CHAIRMAN |
