In addition to the Town Council, Arlesey is represented at County and District level by the local Councillors listed below. | | The Town Council works hard to improve the quality of life in Arlesey. The majority of the Town Council's business is undertaken through its various committees. These committees consider how and why money is spent ensuring that expenditure is both appropriate and cost effective. Town Council committees meet regularly and make recommendations to the full Town Council Meeting, which meets monthly. Legal papers and consultation documents are scrutinized by appointing one or more members to study and report back to the Town Council. Where there are major issues affecting the town, the Council may institute a public consultation to consider problems in full. A recent example of this being the future of Arlesey Health Centre. The Town Council keeps itself in touch with the wider local community, through contact with neighbouring parishes of similar size and with colleagues on other Councils. Individual Town Councillors also represent Arlesey on a variety of outside bodies, reporting back to the Town Council to keep everyone informed. Councillors make themselves available for individual discussions about any matters affecting the Town.
