Minutes of a meeting of the PROPERTY COMMITTEE, Arlesey Town Council held in the Village Hall, Arlesey on Tuesday 19 April 2011. PRESENT: Cllrs: H Harper (Chairman) R Harris Mrs D Archer C Howitt Mrs L Bowskill M Rainbow I Dalgarno D West N Daniels Mrs E Hare (Clerk) and Mrs L Rowe (Assistant Clerk) Also present: Cllr J Caffrey, Cllr D Page and Cllr A White and 2 members of the public and 1 member of the press 418 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE Apologies for absence were received from Cllr Mrs C Harris and Cllr V Williams. 419 MEMBERS’ INTEREST There were no declarations of: (a) Personal interests received (b) Prejudicial interests received 420 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION There was no public participation 421 MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING Prior to the meeting Members received a copy of the minutes of the Property Committee meeting held on 15 March 2011. RESOLVED that the Minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 15 March 2011 be confirmed and signed by the Chairman as a true record. 422 MATTERS ARISING There were no matters arising from the last meeting 423 VILLAGE HALL The Chairman reported that a recent hirer of the village hall had left the hall and kitchen in a terrible condition and was also late by nearly an hour in leaving the hall. It had taken Mrs Shield and Mrs Bosworth some time to clean up after them. The Clerk informed Members that on this occasion the bond of £50 had not been returned to the hirer and she had already written to them. Members considered whether the bond should be increased, it was proposed that the bond for a function without a bar should be increased to £50 and one with a bar to £100. There was nothing else to report. RESOLVED to increase the bond to £100 for a function with a bar and to £50 for a function without a bar 424 CEMETERY The Chairman reported that he had carried out a monthly inspection on cemetery grounds and he had found three memorials were loose but not dangerous. He said that some rubbish had been dumped by the fence at the back of the gardens in Ramerick Gardens. To date the rubbish has not been cleared up but residents in Ramerick Gardens will be written to concerning the dumping of rubbish over their fences. AGREED to note the Chairman’s report 425 ALLOTMENTS The Chairman reported he had carried a monthly inspection of the allotments, he said that plots 1 and 15 needed attention. He also informed Members that 2 allotment holders had created ponds on their plots, he didn’t see that this was a problem. The Chairman said that he had spoken to the farmer whose land was adjacent to the allotments concerning the rubbish that had been dumped on his land this will be monitored. He also reported that the balance of the money had been paid for the new allotment land and completion should take place on 28th April 2011. AGREED to note this information 426 MULTI USE GAMES AREA (MUGA) The Chairman reported that details of the fencing order had been received and he had checked it and it was correct. We were just waiting to be informed as to when the work would commence. AGREED to note the Chairman’s report 427 ACCOUNTS FOR PAYMENT A schedule for the March/April accounts due for payment was presented to Members for approval.
