It was RESOLVED that the Minutes of the meeting of the Planning Committee held on the 20 September 2011 be confirmed and signed by the Chairman as a true record. 53 MATTERS ARISING There were no matters arising from the previous meeting. 54 PLANNING APPLICATION CB/11/03370/FULL – Retention of use of land as a residential caravan site for 6 Gypsy families, including hardstanding, utility blocks and landscaping – Land to the Rear of 197 Hitchin Road, Arlesey. The Chairman gave an account to the meeting of the previous planning applications for this site and added that he had visited the site before the meeting. He had also spoken to the planning officer dealing with the proposal. When he carried out the site visit it was clear this proposal is retrospective as there were a number of caravans already in place and the work had been done on the amenity buildings. He proposed that a request should be made to the Enforcement and Planning Officer to carry out a site visit. Recommended: to strongly OBJECT to the proposal on the same grounds as the previous planning application. The Town Council fundamentally opposes any further expansion on the site, due to the past inconsistencies and breaches to conditions. The Town Council also needs more detailed information of the proposal. 55 STATION CAR PARK The Chairman gave an update on the latest situation regarding the Henlow side of the Station Car Park planning application. He said he had spoken to the planning officer David Lamb who informed him the application was passed in January 2011; the applicant has three years to start the work. Therefore the parking congestion will continue throughout the town. After various discussions it was proposed that the Chairman and Cllr Rainbow arrange a site visit to discuss the problems that the yellow lines are causing on the Henlow side. It was RESOLVED a site visit is arranged with Highways, the Chairman and Cllr Rainbow CHAIRMAN Date |
